Two brothers drown in canal within few days, third rescued

Two brothers drown-ed in Agra canal in Faridabad within a few days of each other while the third one was rescued. According to police, Sunder Singh, son of Dharampal of Etmadpur under Faridabad Sector 31 police station, drowned in Agra canal near Etmadpur a few days ago.

The police said his body was recovered from Palwal area.

After hearing that his brother has drowned in the canal, Sukhbir Singh (24) jumped into the canal on Tuesday near Etmadpur.

When the third brother, Charan Singh, came to know that after the demise of one of his brother, the other one has also jumped in the canal, he too jumped in the canal to rescue his second brother.

However, though Sukhbir Singh was rescued, his brother Charan Singh, who had jumped to rescue the former, drowned in the canal and died. His body was fished out from the canal in Ballabgarh area on Wednesday.

"Charan Singh's body was handed over to his family members after post-mortem was conducted," said Devinder Singh, SHO, Sector 31 police station.
