The woman, Isha, was brought to the hospital late on Tuesday night, with severe burn injuries on the face, neck and chest. “We have done membrane grafting to minimise chances of complications, and hope to save vision in her left eye,” said Dr AK Grover, chairman, department of ophthalmology, Ganga Ram.

“She will need a few surgeries in future but we will decide on that only after a few days,” said Dr Mahesh Mangal of department of plastic and cosmetic surgery.

She comes from a poor family, so the hospital has offered to waive off the treatment cost.
