VIPs fined for violations

Delhi traffic police personnel have prosecuted five VIPs in the past 48 hours for using beacons on their vehicles in central Delhi’s India Gate area. On Thursday, the official vehicle of Haryana’s home secretary was prosecuted for using a beacon.

Delhi traffic police personnel have prosecuted five VIPs in the past 48 hours for using beacons on their vehicles in central Delhi’s India Gate area. On Thursday, the official vehicle of Haryana’s home secretary was prosecuted for using a beacon.

On Wednesday, a deputy commissioner of Sonipat, a CBI officer from Uttar Pradesh, a secretary in the state and a senior leader of a political party were fined for the offence, a traffic police officer said.

The VIPs were caught during special checks which the traffic police started a few months ago. The checks are made between 11am and 1pm.
