Malhotra alleged that while the three municipal corporations were struggling due to shortage of officers, the government was sending MCD officials on deputation to other departments.
“The corporations have been struggling due to the shortage of workforce. Some officials have been given responsibility of nine departments and a few officials of the centralised cadre are looking after the functioning of the three municipalities,” the leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Assembly said in a statement.
“For the last 11 months, pensions have not been disbursed. No payment has been made to contractors,” he added.
