Five such syndicates were busted by the Crime Branch and one by the east district police, taking the total number of syndicates busted by the police during the World Cup to 23.
The police said the rackets were smashed on Saturday.
"They were operating in Rohini, Motia Khan, Vishnu Garden, Patparganj, Lawrence Road and Shahdara during the final match. The total bets received by the betting syndicates on Saturday were around R2.27 crore," a senior police officer said.
