The South Delhi police arrested Mahesh Kumar Sharma (47) and Ravi Sharma (32) on Wednesday for allegedly shooting Ombir Sharma and his brother-in-law Vivek Kumar on October 6.
On Wednesday, Ombir Sharma’s wife Savita Devi who came to know about the arrest of the two accused visited the DCP’s office in Hauz Khas.
“When the two accused were being brought by the police inside the office compound, Devi lunged at the accused and slapped and pushed them. It was so sudden that we were not able to do anything. We quickly took the two accused away,” said a senior police officer.
She later said, “Mahesh destroyed my family. I have four children. I do not know how to look after them now. He should be punished severely.”
Omvir Sharma and accused Mahesh Sharma were business partners and ran a steel factory in the Dadri area in UP. On October 6, they had an argument over shareholding in the factory. “For the last six months they had a dispute. The accused alleged that Sharma had duped him. The accused has also been involved in a previous case of kidnapping in the Manesar area in Gurgaon,” said a police officer.
