The meteorological department said overcast skies, coupled with an approaching rain-bearing system called Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir, have brought the warmth.

The minimum temperature — recorded at dawn on Sunday — was a warm 13.3 degree Celsius, as much as four degrees above normal. The maximum temperature was 27 degrees Celsius, a couple of degrees warmer than normal.

“There is a temporary rise in day temperatures and it is normal. The temperatures will fall,” said the Duty Officer at the Safdarjung Met office.

The minimum temperature on Sunday was also two degrees more than Saturday’s 10.5 degrees Celsius.

Delhiites missed the sting in the air that had been present for the past few weeks now.

The Met department forecast a misty and foggy morning on Monday with the minimum and maximum temperatures expected to be around 11 and 27 degrees Celsius.
