Woman jumps on Metro track

A 30-year-old woman, who is understood to have been upset with her husband after an argument the previous evening, jumped onto the railway tracks with her two minor daughters at northeast Delhi's Seelampur Metro station on Monday morning, police said.

A 30-year-old woman, who is understood to have been upset with her husband after an argument the previous evening, jumped onto the railway tracks with her two minor daughters at northeast Delhi's Seelampur Metro station on Monday morning, police said.

According to police, while the children, who are aged a year-and-half and six, respectively, escaped with minor injuries, the woman received severe head injuries and is currently at a government hospital.

Police said the woman caught hold of her daughters and simply jumped onto the tracks as a Metro coach approached with break-neck speed.
