The centre’s phone number is (011) 47617500 and it will function from 7am to 10pm, till December 15.
Chief Election Officer Satbir S Bedi told HT that the centre is also equipped with a grievance recording system for the electorate to record their problems.
The call centre, managed by a private agency, will function in addition to the messaging service, which also provides similar information through SMS. The latter service, though, is available only to MTNL subscribers on the number ‘53535’.
Meanwhile, to ensure smooth distribution of Election Photo Identity Cards (EPIC) and management of postal ballots,
the election office has appointed one senior officer in each of Delhi’s nine districts.
On Friday, the Election Commission also cleared doubts about the allocation of political symbols to state-level parties with identical or similar symbols. “If candidates from both parties are contesting in a constituency, neither will be allotted the party symbol. However, if only one of the parties is in the fray, its candidate may be allotted its symbol,” said an official.
