The officials from Flood and Irrigation Department said the water level is up by 1.20 meters from the danger mark and is likely to rise further as neighbouring Haryana is constantly releasing four lakh cusecs water due to incessant rains.

"Most of the people living in the affected villages like Jaitpur and Usmanpur have been evacuated while others are being moved to safer places," officials said.

Round the clock monitoring control rooms have been set up by the government while all the officials are on their toes to keep an eye on the river flow.

"Boats and staff are on their move. We are also ensuring that the evacuated people do not face any problem at the temporary tents set up for their safety," the official added.
