Youth held with 30-kg ganja from station

A 25-year-old youth was arrested from a railway station in the Capital for possessing about 30 kg of ganja.

A 25-year-old youth was on Friday arrested from a railway station in the national capital for allegedly possessing about 30 kg of ganja.

Ramesh was arrested by the personnel of Railway Protection Force when he was found moving suspiciously at the platform of Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station in south Delhi this morning, RPF officials said.

The youth, who was carrying a brief case and a hand bag, hails from Vaishali district in Bihar and has arrived from Patna by the 'Garib Rath' train.

When stopped by the RPF personnel for checking, he tried to run away from the spot but was overpowered, officials said.

About 30 kg of ganja, packed in polythene and hidden in the bags, was recovered from his possession, they said.

Ramesh was later handed over to police who charged him under relevant sections of Narcotic Drugs and psychotrophic Substances (NDPS) Act.
