CBSE 12th Board Result 2019: Panchkula region’s pass percentage improves

Out of over 2 lakh regular students who appeared in the exams from the region, 87.57% students passed the exam against the pass percentage of 85.65% last year.

Girls outshine boys again. The pass percentage of girls was 92% while of the boys it was 84%

Chandigarh Panchkula region, comprising Punjab, Haryana, Himachal, J&K and Chandigarh, has improved its pass percentage in the Class 12 Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) exam by 2% as per the results declared results on Thursday.

Out of over 2 lakh regular students who appeared in the exams from the region, 87.57% students passed the exam against the pass percentage of 85.65% last year.

Regional officer Karnail Singh said the credit for this should go to the students and schools. The region’s pass percentage is higher than the national average of 83.40% too.

The girls again outdid boys by recording a pass percentage of 92% against 84% of boys. Last year too, girls had the higher percentage of 90.66% as against 81.85% of boys.

As many as 89,408 girls appeared in the exam, of whom 79,559 passed. A total of 1,22,463 boys appeared in the exam and 96,163 of them got through.

CBSE is yet to release the state-wise result. Karnail Singh said the result could not be complied on Thursday. It will be available on Friday.

KVs FARE BETTER

Students of Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) had a better pass percentage than government and private schools.

The overall pass percentage of KVs is 99% against 87% in private schools and 82% in government schools.

Navodaya Vidyalayas too has recorded a high pass percentage of 97.6%

Government schools have the lowest pass percentage of boys. Only 78.3% boys passed in government schools against 84% in private schools, 96.7% in NVs and 98.7% in KVs.
