IIM Calcutta: Biggest chunk of 29% job offers made by finance companies

IIM Calcutta placements see 29% offers from finance sector, followed by consulting and general management firms

The maximum number of offers at IIM Calcutta’s recently-concluded placements for the PGDM 2017 batch came from the finance sector, followed by consulting and general management.

Of the 474 top offers, the highest packages went up to Rs 70 lakh per annum for domestic and $130,000 (Rs 87 lakh approximately) per annum for international placements .

About 29% offers were made by the finance sector by Arga Investment, BAML, Citibank, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, JPMC etc. Recruiters Accenture, AT Kearney, Bain, BCG and McKinsey came up with 22% of the consulting offers. The rest of the 15% was taken care of by general management firms such as the Aditya Birla Group, CK Birla Group, TAS etc.

Sales and marketing roles contributed to 12% of the total offers, predominantly given by HUL, ITC, P&G, Reckitt Benckiser etc. IT roles came in from Amazon, Wipro etc.
