Three easy steps to help you ace this section

How should one bell the CAT, especially the quantitative section which is an enigma for most students.

Here are some steps that you can follow in order to crack the quant section.

Step 1:
Analysis of previous years’ CAT papers: A proper analysis of the previous year’s papers would enable a student to have an idea about the different types of questions and the weightage given to each topic

Step 2:
Focus on fundamentals, not shortcuts: Go through the basics of each topic. Do not bother about short cuts at the outset

Step 3:
Test taking and analysis: Now try and solve as many mock CAT papers as possible. After attempting the test, try it again without a time limit. You will have attempted a few more problems. Check the solutions to the problems you could not solve and find out the reason why you couldn’t attempt them.
