Yeshvanthapura is the assembly constituency which comes under the Bangalore district. It is one of the 224 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Constituencies. Karnataka Assembly Election 2023 for Yeshvanthapura will be held on May 10 and the result was declared on May 13.
In 2018, the Yeshvanthapura assembly seat had 4,53,546 registered voters, 2,36,223 were male and 2,17,276 were female voters. 0.3% of voters opted for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.
In the Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election 2018, Yeshvanthapura constituency had 20 candidates for assembly seat contention. Yeshvanthapura was one of 80 seats won by the Indian National Congress. It was a close contest with Indian National Congress's S.T Somashekhar winning the election upstaging Janata Dal (Secular)'s T N Javarayi Gowda by a margin of just 10,711 votes.
The top three candidates split 97.7% of votes between them. Indian National Congress's S.T Somashekhar got a total of 1,15,273 votes, while Janata Dal (Secular)'s T N Javarayi Gowda secured 1,04,562 votes. Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate Jaggesh grabbed the third spot with 59,308 votes. The top three parties got 40.3%, 36.6% and 20.8% respectively.
In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Indian National Congress's S.T.Somashekar beat Janata Dal (Secular)'s T.N.Javarayi Gowda by 29,100 votes.
