Mohammed Azharuddin

Mohammad Azharuddin is a former star cricketer who captained the Indian Cricket Team in the 1999 World Cup. He joined politics on February 19, 2009. He joined the Congress party and contested the 2009 general elections from Moradabad. He won the elections and became a member of parliament. In 2014, he contested the Lok Sabha polls from Rajasthan's Tonk–Sawai Madhopur but lost the elections to BJP's Sukhbir Singh. He is the Congress candidate from the Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency in Telangana, in 2023. He will take on BRS candidate Maganti Gopinath who defeated the Congress party's Vishnuvardhan Reddy in 2018, by a margin of over 15000 votes.
