Election 2022 Results Live Updates: In Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Manipur, and Goa counting of votes for Assembly Elections is underway.

The counting of votes for Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur Assembly elections started at 8 am. Exit polls have predicted that the BJP will retain UP and Manipur, and probably Uttarakhand as well. In Goa, a tight race is predicted between the BJP and the Congress. The Aam Aadmi Party is predicted to spring a big surprise in Punjab where it is expected to form the government.

Votes are being counted following Covid protocols for all the states. Initial trends have started emerging, but it will likely be several hours before a complete picture emerges for each state, particularly in Goa, where exit polls predict a hung Assembly.

– UP minister and sitting MLA Nand Gopal Gupta “Nandi” is leading with 12,703 votes in UP’s Allahabad South Seat, after the third round. SP’s Raish Chandra Shukla is at the second place with 6,614 votes.

– In Uttar Pradesh, Jamuna Prasad Saroj of Apna Dal (S) is leading with 2,230 votes. Geeta Shastri of the Samajwadi Party has the second spot with 2,811 votes. BSP’s Anand Bhartiya has got 816 votes while Manoj Kumar Pasi of Congress has received 44 votes.

– According to news agency ANI, Shivpal Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav's uncle, is trailing in his stronghold of UP’s Jaswant Nagar.

– SP chief Akhilesh Yadav is leading in Karhal by 12,356 votes.

– As per the initial counting trends, the ruling BJP is ahead in 18 seats, while the Congress is leading in 15 seats.

– With 7085 votes, Congress' CM candidate Harish Rawat is trailing from Uttarakhand’s Lalkuwa.

– Congress candidate and Punjab sports minister Pargat Singh is trailing by 740 votes from AAP's Surinder Singh Sodhi from Jalandhar cantonment constituency.

– In Manipur’s Thoubal seat, former chief minister and Congress legislature party leader Okram Ibobi Singh leading.

– Neck-and-neck in Congress and BJP in Goa, as of 10 am. Both parties lead in 15 seats.

– BJP candidate from UP’s Allahabad West seat and UP Cabinet minister Sidharth Nath Singh, after the second round of counting, is now leading by a margin of 1,147 votes.

– BJP gains three more seats in Manipur, extends its lead to nine seats. Congress has four seats, while JD(U) has three.

As election officials started counting postal ballots, the BJP made early gains in initial trends in UP and is leading on 27 seats as against the Samajwadi Party which is ahead on 18 seats.
