94.7% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Ram Pratap Alias Shashikant Verma grabbed a total of 85,240 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Arif Anwar Hashmi got 56,066 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Parvez Ahmad Alias Parvez Umar bagged 44,799 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 43.4%, 28.5% and 22.8% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Arif Anwar Hashmi defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Dhirendra Pratap Singh by 1,005 votes.
