The release of 8 x 10 Tasveer was in jeopardy after a cheque issued by Percept Picture Company (PPC) to T-Series bounced last Thursday. But the Akshay Kumar starrer will make it to the cinemas on April 3, as scheduled.

On Friday, R K Chaturvedi, director, PPC, sent a demand draft for Rs 6,67,34,854 to T-Series, along with a letter stating that the account had enough funds and it was an oversight on the part of the bank that had resulted in cheque No. 897813, drawn out to HDFC Bank, Worli, bouncing.

Naveen Kalyan, who received the demand draft (No. 194786, HDFC Bank), replied to Chaturvedi’s letter stating that the above cheque would be returned to PPC soon after the draft was cleared.

Dispute resolved
Subsequently, T-Series issued a letter of clearance to the laboratory processing the film’s negatives and prints. They had also written to the satellite channels to stop airing the movie’s promos. That diktat too has been lifted.

Vinod Bhanushali, president, marketing, promotion and publishing, T-Series, confirmed that the draft has been credited to the company’s account. “The dispute has been resolved. Percept can now go ahead with the film’s release.”
