Aamir to quit smoking, alcohol forever

The star stayed away from alcohol on recent celebrations; be it the success party of his film 3 Idiots or his nephew Imran's engagement with long-time girlfriend Avantika.

Post New Year, Aamir Khan has decided to celebrate but with a difference. He has vowed to never take up drinking and smoking again. Aamir says the next time he invites you home he will treat you to a glass of beer, but he will drink nimbu paani.



Rumours have it that recently, when the cast and crew of 3 Idiots celebrated the success of the movie at a posh restaurant in Andheri, Aamir Khan surprised many by not touching liquor and nephew Imran Khan's engagement party was no exception.

According to reports the actor says, "I just felt like doing it from within. There is no specific reason." He also playfully added, "Yaar, I've put on 10 kilos in recent months. Also, sometimes, I tended to overdo the drinking bit. And I hate it when I feel unhealthy. So I just decided that I wanted to quit alcohol for life. As for cigarettes, I was never a regular smoker. But I've decided to give it up completely too."

Well Mr Perfectionist, if you dislike feeling unfit and both alcohol and smoking make you feel so, we are with you to steer clear of them.
