Another witness corroborates Preity's charges

The Mumbai police recorded the statement of another ‘key’ witness in connection with the alleged Preity Zinta-Ness Wadia fracas that took place at the Wankhede stadium on May 30.
A management staff of Kings XI Punjab, Tara Sharma, who police believe might be an independent witness, is learnt to have given statement to police, corroborating Zinta’s allegations against Wadia. Zinta in her June 12 complaint had alleged that industrialist and co-owner of the team, Wadia, had outraged her modesty, abused her and threatened her in full public view. Wadia, whose statement is yet to be recorded, had termed the allegations as ‘false and baseless’.
Sharma, whose statement was recorded on Thursday, was responsible for ticket distribution for the team’s matches. Zone I deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Ravindra Shisve on Friday confirmed that Sharma’s statement had been recorded.
