Did you sketch as a kid?
(Laughs) I couldn’t even draw a line.

So how did you come up with the idea of writing a mythological comic book?
I’ve always been intrigued by Indian mythologies. I used to watch Ramayana and Mahabharata on TV as a kid. I thought it would be interesting to connect mythological facts to modern times. The idea took shape a few years ago.

But do kids read such stories anymore?
If you enter a bookstore, you will still find new editions of Amar Chitra Katha. It’s just that awareness is lost due to the emergence of games like Wii, Play Station and Xbox, as also the influence of TV. Parents should buy their children more books and DVDs related to our mythology.

What’s your book about?
I can’t give too many details. I don’t want someone to steal my ideas. Besides, I’m bound by a contract till the series hits the market.

Are you doing your own sketches?
I’m the writer. Liquid Comics artists will be doing the sketches and we, as a team, will approve the designs. Will you consider a film adaptation? Why not?
