Hard mattress.

My wife makes sure it stays clean all the time.

What’s your favourite kind of sheet?

Egyptian cotton. It’s very smooth.

Can you get by with power naps through the day?

I can make do with powernaps. But when I have the day off, I sleep for 18 hours at a stretch.

Is there one bed thing you carry with you everywhere?

My pillow is the first thing that goes into my bag.

Do you keep your phone on silent at bedtime?

I switch it off till I wake up.

Must you sleep with a light on somewhere?

No. I prefer pitch dark surroundings.
