Alia Bhatt reacts to Ranbir Kapoor's ‘twins’ comment: ‘Oh god! Khud ke paer pe kulhadi maar li’

Alia Bhatt has clarified that she is indeed not having twins, unlike the rumour started by her husband Ranbir Kapoor.

Actor Alia Bhatt was just as shocked as the rest of the country when her husband-actor Ranbir Kapoor started the ‘twins’ rumours about them. In a recent interview, Ranbir was asked to say some truth and some lies about himself when he said that he might be expecting twins with Alia.

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt got married in April and are expecting a child.

He later clarified that it was all a joke. Now, Alia has also put the rumours to rest and said that they are only expecting one baby. The couple got married in April and announced her pregnancy last month.

Speaking with RJ Siddharth Kanan, Alia said, “Oh god, f***, pardon my french. Singular. Ranbir was doing some joke on some Reel and apni hi paed pe unhone kulhadi maar di (He walked into it). Clearly humare paas dearth of info aur news hai toh yeh bhi ek news item ban gaya hai (Clearly we don't have enough things making headlines in the country that this did). The world should pray for health, happiness and goodness for me and Ranbir... Mujhe bhi baad m pata chala (even I learnt about this later)."

After making the statement, Ranbir asked the media not to create controversy. “Don’t create controversy. They asked me to state three things: two truths and a lie. Now I can’t reveal what is the truth, and what is the lie,” Pinkvilla reported him as saying.

Ranbir had started the rumour when he said two truths and a lie in an interview with Film Companion. He said, “I am having twins, I am going to be part of a very big mythological film, I am taking a long break from work," leaving his fans to guess the actual truth.

Ranbir and Alia will soon be seen together for the first time on the big screen in Brahmastra. The film will release in September. Ranbir also has Animal and another film with Luv Ranjan. Alia will be seen in Darlings first, followed by the Hollywood movie Heart of Stone, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani and Jee Le Zaraa.
