Malaika Arora recreates iconic Zeenat Aman song Aap Jaisa Koi for Ayushmann Khurrana's An Action Hero. Watch

Malaika Arora is back with a new dance number in Ayushmann Khurrana's film An Action Hero. She has recreated Zeenat Aman's Aap Jaisa Koi from Qurbaani.

Malaika Arora is back with another glamourous dance number. Titled Aap Jaisa Koi, the song is from Ayushmann Khurrana's upcoming film An Action Hero and also has a cameo by the latter in the song. However, the song has a very different vibe from Zeenat Aman's original song from the 1980 film, Qurbani as visuals of Ayushmann from An Action Hero are intertwined with it.

The song has been recreated by Tanishk Bagchi and the modified lyrics have been re-sung by Zahrah S Khan and Altamash Faridi. The original was sung by Nazia Hassan with lyrics by Indeevar and music by Biddu. While Zeenat was seen in a red dress in the original as she performed at a club with Feroz Khan in the audience, Malaika Arora dons a short shimmery outfit and is joined by Ayushmann in the end. However, the song falls short of Malaika's earlier hit dance numbers like Munni Badnam Hui, Anarkali Disco Chali or Hoth Rasiley.

The first song from the film Jehda Nasha was also a recreation of a hit Punjabi song by Amar Jalal and IP Singh. It has Nora Fatehi on the dance floor in a shimmery outfit. Ayushmann too joins her in the song.

Tanishk Bagchi had earlier defended himself saying that his recreated songs have brought fame for the singers of the original. He told Hindustan Times in an interview, “You don’t even know the name of Jedha Nasha’s original singers (Amar Jalal and IP Singh). You only know my name because I have recreated it. Log jaante hi nahi ki kisne gaaya hai wo gaana (people don't know who has sung the song). However, this step of recreating the song and picturising it on Ayushmann Khurrana and Nora Fatehi will help the original singers in getting noticed. We are just becoming a window for these people to come out in the mainstream.”

Ayushmann Khurrana's An Action Hero will be released in theatres on December 2. It also stars Jaideep Ahlawat in a prominent role.
