Tanishaa Mukerji says she ‘didn’t have appreciation’ for Ajay Devgn as action hero: 'They aren't considered as actors'

Tanishaa Mukerji shared her first opinion of her brother-in-law, actor Ajay Devgn's action films. The actor, who is Kajol's younger sister, will soon be seen in an action thriller.

Tanishaa Mukerji confessed she didn't ‘have any appreciation’ for her brother-in-law, actor Ajay Devgn as an action hero, until she did an action project herself.

The actor, who is Kajol's younger sister, is best known for her films Neal 'n' Nikki, Sarkar and the Tamil film Unnale Unnale. Having appeared last in Anna, in 2016, Tanishaa Mukerji is making her acting comeback with spy thriller, Code Name Abdul.

In a recent interview, Tanishaa Mukerji talked about learning action and made the confession about Ajay Devgn. “It’s the first time, I have done action. I am a very physical person so I loved the rehearsals and working with the action directors. Whenever I saw my brother-in-law Ajay Devgn, we didn’t have any appreciation for him. Since action heroes are not considered as actors until I did Code Name Abdul. I feel action is more about the reaction,” she said, speaking with Free Press Journal.

When asked if Ajay gave her any advice, she said, “Have you met him ever? He gives no tips; I speak and he listens (Laughs).” Although Ajay has delivered some memorable performances – such as Legend of Bhagat Singh, Raid and Drishyam – the actor is predominantly known for his action films.

While Tanishaa is gearing up for Code Name Abdul, she is also recovering from Covid-19. The actor had tested positive for the virus recently and spoke about her recovery with Hindustan Times. “I am doing good, thankfully. I’m fully vaccinated, that’s why my symptoms are not so severe, and I am not so sick,” she said, adding that her symptoms were limited to congestion, and she had fever for just a day.

“I was out in a public gathering recently, and although I was masked I had to remove it for pictures and interactions. I think I may have been infected that evening,” the 43-year-old added.
