Paris, 27, was out with singer pal Christina Aguilera, who was celebrating her 28th birthday, when the thief early on Friday forced open the front door of the 4 million pound mansion, reports thesun.co.uk.

The hooded raider escaped despite the house being in a private gated community patrolled by guards.

Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Ben Llewellyn said: "A security guard is the one that called in and reported that the residence was broken into. A man wearing a hooded sweatshirt and gloves forced entry through the front door. The man ransacked the bedroom."

The cops are now looking at CCTV footage for clues.
