Hollywood comedian, Daniel Lawrence Whitney, better known by his stage name and character Larry the Cable Guy claims that he never thought that he would work in blockbusters. “If you had told me before few years that I was going to be in a couple of blockbuster movies, I would’ve said you were crazy,” he says.

Having achieved stardom, the 48-year-old still remains excited about travelling. “I grew up in a small town and I never saw anything. I remember when I started doing stand-up, it was really cool, because I got to go to cities that I had never seen before,” says the actor, who will be reprising his role as Mater in upcoming summer comedy Cars 2.

The comedian insists that he relates to animated character Mater. “I relate so much to what Mater is going through, because I was the same way. He’s always Mater wherever he goes. I’m also comfortable being me. I’m friendly because that’s more important than anything else,” he says.
