His debut film, Footpath, released in 2003, didn’t exactly set the cash registers ringing, but it did brand him as Bollywood’s ‘serial kisser’. Emraan Hashmi built on this reputation with Murder, Anurag Basu’s thriller co-starring Mallika Sherawat, and he’s been on a roll ever since. Next, he will be seen in Once Upon A Time In Mumbai where he plays a character loosely based on Dawood Ibrahim.

I would ask him exactly why he wears his underwear over his tights.
Your exercise routine

If you were stranded on a desert island and could keep five things with you, what would you choose?
My phone, a DVD player, video game console, a plasma TV and shades. I am assuming that there is going to be electricity on that island.
If you could go back in time, which period of history would you go back to and why?
I would like to go back to the ’60s or ’70s. I love the films, the fashion and the music of that time. And Mumbai had less traffic then.
If you had to go for a fancy dress party, what's the whackiest costume you would come up with?
It would have the same look that I have in my soon-to-be-released movie, Once Upon A Time In Mumbai. It’s really cool!
Three places you love shopping in.
I love shopping in Hong Kong, London and Melbourne.
What drives you up the wall?
The shrieking noise that is created when you run a compass on a blackboard.
Your favourite indoor and outdoor game?
I like playing video games at home, such as the Xbox 360 or Playstation. And among outdoor games, I like playing cricket.
If you were an animal, which animal would you be and why?
I would like to be a cat. A cat is very smart, sharp, can sleep the whole day and gets food very easily.
The one place you really want to visit and why.
Unfortunately I haven’t seen snow at all. So I would like to visit any place where there is snow.
One thing you love about your partner.
Her simplicity.
What do you do in a crisis?
Face it head on.
You have faith in...
Myself!!!
