Congress leader Sonia Gandhi invites newlyweds to meet her in Delhi

Congress President Sonia Gandhi has invited newlyweds Esha Deol and her husband Bharat Takhtani to her residence in Delhi, say sources close to Hema Malini, a former BJP MP and the bride’s mother.

Hema Malini recently visited the capital and invited Sonia to the wedding ceremony that took place on Friday at the ISKCON temple, Juhu.

Sonia accepted the invitation, but said she might not be able to make it due to security considerations.

Instead, she invited the couple to 10 Janpath in Delhi.

Confirming the news, Hema says, “She is very nice to talk to. She said she wouldn’t be able to make it to the wedding ceremony due to security reasons. However, she added that when they (Esha and Bharat) visit Delhi, they are invited to her place and they should go and meet her. It’s a very sweet gesture from her side.”
