Hope for Aashayein

Bhooshan Kumar who recently struck a deal for his next production Karzzz with Reliance, has convinced the corporation to buy the distribution rights of Aashayein, as part of a package deal.

Since John Abraham belted out five losers in a row - Kabul Express, Babul, Salaam-eIshq, No Smoking and Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal - there were no buyers for his Aashayein produced by Percept Picture Company and T-Series and directed by Nagesh Kukunoor.

But the clouds have cleared. Bhooshan Kumar who recently struck a deal for his next production Karzzz with Reliance, has convinced the corporation to buy the distribution rights of Aashayein, as part of a package deal.

According to trade pundits, the combination of John Abraham and Nagesh Kukunoor was considered marketable at one point but with the flops, the tide turned.

Meanwhile, the film's music had been released in the beginning of May under the label of T-Series.

At the function, John Abraham had performed along with the playback singers. However, the CDs and tapes weren't released in the market.

According to a source in the music company, that was an attempt to gauge the public response and create some buzz about the film. The attempt was in vain.

Advertisements of Aashayein had been released in various trade magazines to attract subbuyers.. again in vain.

The films's other acting crew includes Sonal Sehgal, Farida Jalal, Girish Karnad.
