'I will be called the no-panty girl'
Actor Yana Gupta, who was photographed at a recent charity event without an underwear, says once she was called an item girl and will now be called the ‘no-panty girl.’
It’s one fashion faux pas that will be hard to live down. On Sunday, actor Yana Gupta was photographed at a charity event in Mumbai wearing a little black dress — and no underwear.
The photos went online, and Gupta is trying to make light of the incident, saying she was once called an item girl and will now be called the ‘no-panty girl’.
Confessing that she went commando, Yana says, "I was rehearsing for a dance reality show and my underwear made me uncomfortable. I kept adjusting my panties. So, I decided to rehearse without wearing any, and unfortunately, had to rush for the event, so I forgot to wear them. I really had no idea that so much could be seen."
Though some are calling it a publicity gimmick on the part of ‘out-of-work Yana’, she says, "I know it was naive but I don’t need to do such things for publicity."
Film-maker Farah Khan made fun of the incident and tweeted, “Someone please buy Yana Gupta some underwear. Kya Yaar”.
However, actor Eesha Koppikhar, who attended the event with Gupta, has come to her defence, saying it was an honest mistake, and people should let her be. “Why is it being blown out of proportion when there are other issues at hand? The hype is in bad taste; people should not discuss such private details,” said Koppikhar.
