Kiwi actor Karl Urban is set to replace actor Sylvester Stallone in the upcoming Judge Dredd sequel.

Kiwi actor Karl Urban is set to replace actor Sylvester Stallone in the upcoming Judge Dredd sequel. The comic book anti-hero is to make a comeback 13 years after Stallone’s original 1995 flick, with a script by novelist/screenwriter Alex Garland.

According to Bleedingcool.com, Stallone is not part of the new 3D film and the role of the Judge will be offered to Star Trek actor Urban instead, reports The Daily Star.

The film is slated to hit cinemas in late 2011 or early 2012.
