Pop singer Ronan Keating has publicly apologised to his wife Yvonne for cheating on her with a dancer.

The Boyzone star has chosen the sleeve notes of his new album Duet to apologise for his mistakes and said he had been in "dark place" when he had the affair with dancer Francine Cornell, 26.

"You are the most incredible, inspirational woman I have ever met. For the mistakes I have made in my life, I am sorry," dailymail.co.uk quoted him as saying.

"Guess you have to go there to come back. It was a dark place and you were the light to bring me back. I love you," he added.
