Cobain said that during his high school, he thought it might be the solution to his problem of feeling isolated. The rockstar said that he never experimented with it, but he had a gay friend and his mom didn't allow him to be friends with him, as she was homophobic.

Cobain had insisted that it was real devastating for him, as he couldn't hang out with a male friend he had finally found, whom he actually hugged and was affectionate too, and talked about a lot of things with.
