The term, creatures of the night, loosely applied to people who either work or party into the wee hours, is set to include another lot— actor Kareena Kapoor’s styling team.

The stylists have given the term a new meaning by going shopping at one in the morning after the monsoon played spoilsport with the actor’s wardrobe. A couple of days ago, Kareena’s clothes were picked up an hour after midnight from the showrooms of designers Monisha Jaising and Nandita Mahtani.

Kareena was shooting a music video with Aamir Khan — for their upcoming film, Talaash — over the weekend. “They were shooting during the night at Famous Studios. Everything was going fine but, unfortunately on the second night, there was some problem with her second change (of dress),” says a member from the film’s unit.

Later, when the styling team checked out the clothes, they realised that one of Bebo’s main outfits had been damaged in the rains. “And since filming was underway, they couldn’t have cancelled the shoot,” adds the insider.

As a result, co-producer Ritesh Sidhwani (of Excel Entertainment) immediately called up a couple of his friends and checked as to who could open the showroom at that time, since it was around one am.

“Finally, two of his designer friends, Nandita and Monisha, stepped out and opened their showrooms (in Bandra). The crew rushed to both the stores and picked up the clothes that were available, keeping Kareena’s character in mind. And that’s how shooting continued,” says the insider.

Apparently, three dresses each were picked up from the designers’ collections.

When contacted, Sidhwani confirms the incident while the film’s spokesperson added: “All of us were nervous about it since everything happened at the last minute. But thankfully, Ritesh made some calls and got a few dresses arranged. Otherwise, it would have been a major issue.” Talaash brings Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani together with Aamir 10 years after their first film, Dil Chahta Hai (2001).
