Last year, Mahendra Singh Dhoni got married to Sakshi Singh Rawat amidst much fanfare. Now, the Indian cricket team’s captain and his wife are set to make a splash with their first ever advertisement together for a bike company.

Sakshi, who will make her debut in the glam world with this advertisement, has already managed to create an impression on director duo, Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, who are known for directing the hit film, Shor In The City, which released earlier this year.

“We were very impressed with Sakshi. She is a very vivacious and lively person. And it clearly shows on screen,” says DK. “Initially she was a bit nervous, but soon, she was comfortable with the entire experience.”

Ask him if Dhoni, who’s known for his composed attitude on the cricket field, was nervous about working with wife Sakshi and he smiles, “I don’t think he is a stranger to the camera any longer after doing so many ads. For him, it’s all in a day’s work. He was very cool.”

Since Sakshi is generally perceived as a very stylish girl, did she have any tips for her husband? “Not really. There was nothing out of place. Since Sakshi is a very young girl, she was very comfortable with her personality.”

Although the directors tried to wrap up the shoot early, by the end of it, they were all playing galli cricket with MSD. “It was a great experience working with them,” gushes DK.
