Ranbir Kapoor misses Ganpati visarjan
Actor was away on immersion day as he flew to Dubai for film’s promotions
Celebrating the Ganpati festival at the RK Studios has been a tradition for Ranbir Kapoor since childhood. He has been a regular at the family event every year and takes part in the immersion procession too.
But this year, Ranbir had to give this ceremony a miss as the actor, who has been busy promoting his upcoming film Besharam, flew to Dubai for a week-long trip.
A source says, “Ranbir’s popularity is a huge draw during the immersion procession. People gather in hordes to get a glimpse of him.” The mass hysteria to see Ranbir started only after his debut film Saawariya (2007).
“But now due to his busy promotional schedule, he was sad that he couldn’t bid farewell to Lord Ganesha. His family was fine with his decision since it was a professional matter,” adds the source.
In earlier years, Ranbir had come to seek blessings with his Rockstar (2011) director Imtiaz Ali, and then with Anjaana Anjaani (2010) co-star Priyanka Chopra. This year, Ranbir went to the Lalbaughcha Raja pandal in addition to RK Studios.
Director Abhinav Singh Kashyap confirms this news, saying, “We are all in Dubai for the promotions of the film and will be back in a week’s time.”
