Celebrated Canadian-Indian stand-up comedian, Russell Peters, is set to perform at Comedy Store on September 18. While he has managed to keep the news of his visit hush-hush, not announcing it on his Twitter account or website, a source confirms his latest Indian outing, “Yes, we have been in talks with Russell Peters for a while now. Looks like things are finally falling into place. We are still awaiting the final go-ahead.”

It is said that Peters, who is making his Bollywood debut with Akshay Kumar’s Speedy Singhs, will be in town to promote the film next week. The veteran funnyman has previously performed to packed shows in the city thrice, between 2006 and 2008. He recently hosted The Gemini Awards, and is gearing up for a US tour in November.

At the Comedy Store next Sunday, the funnyman, known for his observational comedy about communities and culture around the world, will bring to the stage a new show with the same comic streak, featuring in-your-face mockery of traditional racial stereotypes.
