The 37-year-old football ace showcased grey hair, beard and sideburns as walked through Manchester Airport ahead of his pre-season tour of America.
Compared to last year, the 37-year-old looked gaunt and underweight with sunken eyes.
His suit jacket seemed to dwarf his petite frame and his cheekbones protruded from his face with more prominence than usual.
Giggs failed to break into a smile when one fan shouted: ''Have you got a sponsorship deal with Durex yet?''
"Ryan really looked as if he has aged, presumably because of all the trouble he's been having," the Daily Star quoted an onlooker at the airport as saying.
“Everyone knows he's growing grey on top but the beard made him look even older than the youthful look fans have always expected of him.
“He looked really gloomy as he went to the airport and trudged through the arrivals lounge like an old man.
“In fact he looked more like Harold Shipman than a Premiership footballer,” the source added.
