Leo box office collection: Vijay, Lokesh Kanagaraj's film likely to earn ₹264 cr in opening week

Lokesh Kangaraj's Tamil action fick Leo, starring Vijay, is estimated to have crossed the ₹250 crore milestone at the domestic box office on Wednesday.

Vijay's Leo has completed a week at the box office since it released last Thursday on October 19. The Lokesh Kanagaraj has maintained its stronghold and as per Sacnilk, is likely to have crossed the ₹250 crore mark at the domestic box office on Wednesday. Leo's Day 7 collection

Leo is estimated to have made ₹15 crore across its Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu versions on its seventh day in India. This makes its domestic gross go up to ₹264.80 crore. The film enjoyed an occupancy of 33.84% in Tamil, 29.08% in Telugu, and 9.49% in Hindi.

Leo's box office report so far

Leo minted more than double of its Wednesday estimate the previous day on the occasion of Dussehra. It garnered ₹31.50 crore on Wednesday, with an occupancy of 65.79% in Tamil, 48.40% in Telugu, and 20.13% in Hindi. If the early estimates for Day 7 are to go by, Leo has clearly witnessed more than 50% drop after Dussehra.

Leo is the latest instalment in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe, that consists of Karthi-starrer Kaithi (2019), and Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi, and Fahadh Faasil-starrer Vikram (2022). A spin-off on the character of Rolex from Vikram, played by Suriya, is likely to be developed in the future.

Leo also stars Trisha, Arjun, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin, Madonna Sebastian, George Maryan, Mansoor Ali Khan, Priya Anand, and Mathew Thomas. It also stars Sanjay Dutt in his debut Tamil role. It reunites Vijay with Lokesh after their 2021 blockbuster Master and Vijay with co-star Trisha after Ghilli, Kuruvi and Thirupaachi.

The Hindustan Times review of Leo stated, “What Lokesh Kanagaraj does well is create visual treats that ignite fan frenzy. In the middle of all the slow-motion shots and blood-spewing punches, there are also noteworthy moments like Parthiban lighting crackers on a cigarette between his lips while trying to corner a hyena. It helps immensely that Vijay looks sharp, almost charming when he’s interacting with people. His camaraderie with his teenage son is interesting.”
