Set up by cartoonist, K. Shankar Pillai, the Shankar International Doll Museum has one of the largest collections of costume dolls anywhere in the world.

Since it is too hot to go out, let’s hang out in some air-conditioned comfort and still have a look at some of the best things that this city offers. Set up by cartoonist, K. Shankar Pillai, the Shankar International Doll Museum has one of the largest collections of costume dolls anywhere in the world.

They come in many skin colours: black, white, and brown. They come in many nationalities: Bulgarians, Cubans, and Indians. It’s like being in the departure terminal of a really busy international airport where you see people from all parts of the world.

Walk past more than 160 glass cases and meet the Kabuki dancer of Japan, Flamenco dancer of Spain, and the Jazz trumpeter from USA. Watch the Siberian hunter travelling on a sledge, the Norwegian witch riding on broom, and a Portuguese girl carrying a chicken on her head. Say hello to little Mozart and wave at the little astronaut.

This is a world trip you will remember forever.Time 10 am- 5.30 pm, the museum is closed each Monday closed Ticket Rs 15 (Rs 5 for children below 5) Where Nehru House, 4 Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg.
