Dipika Kakar had a miscarriage last year, was scared about second pregnancy: 'Even to celebrate, there was hesitation'

Days after they announced her pregnancy, Dipika Kakar and husband Shoaib Ibrahim have revealed that she suffered a miscarriage last year.

TV actor Dipika Kakar, who announced on Sunday that she is pregnant, has now revealed that she suffered a miscarriage early last year. Her husband, actor Shoaib Ibrahim also shared how scared they were this time because of the past experience. ()

Dipika Kakar and Shoaib Ibrahim are expecting their first child soon.

Dipika and Shoaib shared a cute picture on Instagram Sunday morning to announce that they are expecting their first child. For the pic, Shoaib and Dipika twinned in white outfits and wore their caps backwards with the words 'mom-to-be' and 'dad-to-be' written on them.

Shoaib told ETimes that Dipika suffered a miscarriage in the sixth week of her pregnancy in February last year. “Because of that we were a bit scared this time and I am sure all of you would understand that. It’s not just us, many go through this," Dipika added. Shoaib also said that her health deteriorated due to the miscarriage and people were commenting about her getting fat.

Recalling how Dipika informed him about the pregnancy recently, Shoaib told the daily that she sent a photo of the pregnancy test when he was shooting in Chandivali. He then asked her to stay calm, and not inform his mother. They told his mom only after 15-20 days. Dipika added, “We were happy but so scared that even to celebrate that moment there was a bit of hesitation. I had a strong feeling that it would happen this time. We were very careful this time.”

In their joint announcement note about pregnancy, Shoaib and Dipika wrote, “Sharing this news with you all with our hearts full of Gratitude, Happiness, Excitement and Also nervousness Humari life ka ye Sabse khoobsurat phase hai…Yessss We are Expecting Our First Child!! Going to Embrace Parenthood Soon #alhamdulillah Aapki dher saari duaon aur pyaar ki zaroorat hai (We need your prayers and love) for our little one #shoaika #parentstobe #allahkashukar.”

A few hours later, they also shared another pic which showed their feet as they stood together with a pair of baby shoes kept in between. “Every Moment will be Cherished when your footsteps will join ours Yessss We are Expecting Our First Child!! Going to Embrace parenthood Soon. Aapki dher saari duaon aur pyaar ki zaroorat hai for our little one (We need your prayers and love).”

Having met on the sets of Sasural Simar Ka, Dipika and Shoaib became close friends before they began dating and got married in 2018.
