Fashion is back in business in the Capital with the onset of Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2016. The 27th edition of the fashion week, helmed by Fashion Design Council of India, kicked off in the Capital on Wednesday.
Apart from the runway action, the new venue, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium also made news for its vast open spaces, a live band that played through the day and a two-way runway under the stars for designer Gaurav Gupta’s closing show.
While Gupta showcased a glamorous collection that also sent out a message for the need for ethical and sustainable fashion, the opening show, by Varun Bahl, saw the designer showcasing autumnal florals and fun owl motifs. Designer Rina Dhaka also showcased a collection that gave out some fun inspiration for the winter season, with creations that aimed to make even knitwear and woollens super sexy.
