How to keep your jewellery sparkling

Tips to keep your gemstone jewellery sparkling:

1 Keep it clean: Wipe your gemstone jewellery thoroughly with a clean, soft, slightly damp cloth after wearing them. This will enhance their lustre.

2 Keep them away from harsh chemicals: Do not expose your precious gemstones to salt water or harsh chemicals such as chlorine or detergents. These chemicals may slowly erode their polish. Hair spray, cosmetics and perfume cause jewellery to become dull.

3 Temperature check: Sudden temperature changes can crack some gemstones.

4 For organic gemstones: Organic gemstones such as amber, coral, pearls, and also opals, should be kept away from ultrasonic cleaners to avoid the stones from being getting damaged.

5 Store them separately: Store gemstone pieces individually in soft pouches. Also, if you lead an active lifestyle, take extra precautions with some types of gemstone jewellery embedded with emeralds and opals, as these are brittle and should not be worn while doing household chores.
