When Sonam Kapoor made a much awaited appearance at the Cannes red carpet on Sunday, her protruding butt in the white Jean Paul Gaultier couture gown made heads turn and got tongues wagging. Aaron Rohan George writes.
When Sonam Kapoor made a much awaited appearance at the Cannes red carpet on Sunday, her protruding butt in the white Jean Paul Gaultier couture gown made heads turn and got tongues wagging. In no time, the blogosphere was abuzz with speculation that the 25-year-old style diva had donned bum-pads or butt enhancers.
“That protrusion at the back... lol at that,” posted a reader on fashion blog Pinkvilla.
“She looks great but that’s surely not all her at the back. When did she get so shapely?,” read another.
“Her gown is edgy yet classic but the bum does look more curvy that usual. Perhaps it’s bum pads or just a bum shaper undergarment,” says designer Anupamaa Dayal.
But those close to Kapoor insist that it’s all all her in the gown.
“I have seen pictures from the trials and nothing extra can fit into this gown. It’s a couture piece so even if she wanted to, she couldn’t fit bum pads in there,” says stylist Pernia Qureshi.
