Janhvi Kapoor’s yellow Dhadak promotions dress is straight out of Beauty and the Beast

Janhvi Kapoor’s yellow Anushree Reddy outfit reminds us of Belle from Beauty and the Beast. Whether Janhvi intended to channel Belle at Dhadak promotions is unclear, but we’re certainly loving her princess-y look.

Janhvi Kapoor is a fashion favourite of ours. She doesn’t tend to surprise in terms of what she’s wearing: We always expect her to dazzle in Manish Malhotra. (She is very close to the designer, after all). However, the Anushree Reddy dress she wore to kickstart promotions for her debut film Dhadak on Tuesday revealed itself to be quite unexpected — and gave us some serious déjà vu.

The soft yellow hue with silver embellishments isn’t something we’ve seen Janhvi reach for yet. In the recent past, Janhvi has for opted bold shades, like this green and pink anarkali at Dhadak trailer launch, but she mostly favours more-muted tones. So, her vibrant yellow ensemble was a welcome change — one that invited some immediate Disney comparisons from us.

The the voluminous, flowy skirt, and the punchy hue recalled a certain tale as old as time. (Janhvi’s locks styled in loose, oversized curls definitely added to the fairy tale vibe.)

Whether Janhvi intended to channel Belle from Beauty and the Beast is unclear, but we’re certainly loving her princess-y look. Her designer ensemble cinched at the corset-style bodice with a shimmery jacket style detail adding a bit of dimension to the dress. The slightly asymmetrical hem featured plenty of ruffled chiffon.

Furthermore, Janhvi’s minimal make-up made her look straight out of a Disney movie. The whole effect made her look delicate, but strong. She accessorised with Minerali Store earrings and a ring from Amrapali Jewels.

Now, we can’t wait to see what Janhvi wears to all of those Dhadak promotion events. We trust it’ll be a style statement.
