ICW 2018: Kareena Kapoor merges bold and classic as Falguni Shane Peacock’s showstopper
Sexy sophistication made its way down the runways of Falguni Shane Peacock’s debut India Couture Week 2018 collection at Taj Palace, New Delhi on Thursday. Actor Kareena Kapoor Khan looked like a dazzling bride as she turned showstopper for the designers in an exquisite gold lehenga that’s ideal for the woman who wants to flaunt her figure. Kareena’s dreamy ensemble comprised a voluminous, crystal work embedded A-line lehenga with a train, a matching full-sleeved choli with a plunging neckline and a shimmery nude dupatta with feathery flourishes. The head-to-toe gold look was full of whimsy and romance, perfect for bride who want to look appropriate, while having a hint of sexiness. See for yourself:
Kareena’s cocktails-ready lehenga proves there are plenty of pretty ways to incorporate delicate plumes into your party wear. Feather embellishments, cascading feather trains, feather cuffs — no matter how they appear, with just the right touch of texture, these glamorous embellishments will leave you floating on air. Just like Kareena, here. We have one word for her: Breathtaking.
Have a special event coming up, but feel like you don’t know what to wear? Take inspiration from Kareena’s showstopping lehenga, which is sure to leave you the best-dressed at whatever event you’re attending.
If you’re a bold bride looking for sexy lehengas (or gowns), you’ll find plenty of gorgeous styles boasting plunging necklines and backlines, snug silhouettes, sheer fabric, and unexpected cutout bodices at Falguni Shane Peacock’s ICW 2018 collection. This is the first time the designer duo is showcasing their couture designs at the five-day fashion extravaganza, presented by Hindustan Times and Sunil Sethi Design Alliance.
“We have drawn our inspiration from a tale in which a Parisian queen is invited to the resplendent Junagarh Palace in Rajasthan, which is known for its meticulous architecture and grandeur. A mela (local carnival) is orchestrated in the honour of the queen, who is left mesmerised by the majestic and royal nature of the occasion,” the designers told Hindustan Times in an interview, before their show.
India Couture Week, presented by Hindustan Times and Sunil Sethi Design Alliance, will be on from July 25 to July 29, in Delhi.
