While actor Madhuri Dixit wore an anarkali suit in this trendy shade (by designer Anita Dongre) to a movie promotion, actor Yami Gautam aced the look in a gown with a plunging neckline (by designer Sonaakshi Raaj) for a red carpet event. Canary yellow coloured saris also seem to be in vogue, with actors Vidya Balan, Sridevi, Anushka Sharma, and Jacqueline Fernandez opting for the sexy six yards in this shade.

"Canary yellow is a beautiful, happy colour and it suits the Indian skin tone perfectly. Simple makeup is ideal for this hue. Do some colour-blocking with your choice of lip colour, maybe burnt red or English rose hues," says designer Nida Mahmood.

With such a peppy colour, it is also easy to get carried away with accessories, so keep it simple. Designer Anita Dongre says, "If it’s a dress, team it up with a denim crop jacket and light jewellery. You could also wear the colour on a simple top and team it up with denims or white/beige pants. Complement your look with a printed scarf or a casual blazer."

The daring divas can also go a step further with this colour! You can paint your nails in bright yellow or even add a swipe of yellow eyeshadow on the inner corners of your eyes to make them pop. Take a cue from singer Lily Allen’s stylebook and opt for a canary yellow hue for the tips of your ponytail. So, go ahead, welcome the spring season.
