Naeem Khan closes LFW with a bang

In January, international designer Naeem Khan had confirmed to us that his Lakme Fashion Week collection would be a modified version of some of his recent work. And indeed, those who saw it on Sunday night were quick to spot the stunning gown that Stacy Keibler wore to the Oscars last month.

And indeed, those who saw it on Sunday night were quick to spot the stunning gown that Stacy Keibler wore to the Oscars last month. Earlier in the show, a model also sported The Vampire Diaries actor Nina Dobrev’s embroidered dress from a post-Oscars party.

The collection may have been familiar, but seeing it up close was quite the experience. The Mumbai-born designer let his clothes do the talking. Unlike other big names at the LFW, he stayed behind the scenes for the most part, and had only one major celebrity in his front row, Freida Pinto (who took her seat with minimum fuss). The show started with all-black ensembles studded with crystals (we saw them at Rocky Star earlier in the evening too) and graduated to his signature embellished gowns and watercolour cocktail dresses, before moving on to velvets.
